We need to buy line protection unit. The line protection unit should protect EPABX Line Circuits against lightening, over voltage, over current and 230 volt AC mains power contact. The LPU should be solid state, self resetting, quick acting protection module and should comprise ten nos of line protection circuits per unit.

The Protection Circuit should comprise components for Over Current (OC) and Over voltage(OV). The nominal :on stat" resistance of OC device should be of the order of 4 to 8 ohms which should go up to a few mega ohms when excess current flows through the loop/circuit. The OC device should return to normal after the line condition is restored. The Over Voltage device connected in parallel should provide low impedance to high voltages beyond the rated voltage on a phone line (typical 250 V AC). This device should handle as high as 1000-Ampere short-term short circuit current (as per ITU-T K.21 standards). The Over Voltage device should withstand Lightning voltage :1.5 KV with different wave-shapes. Lightning current :Up to 1000 Ampere with different wave -shapes (*as per the ITU-T K.44 standards).
