Phulkari Embroidery

Phulkari Embroidery

Developed by the local women of Punjab, Phulkari (meaning flower-crafting) is a form of hand embroidery with characteristic designs like exquisite floral and geometric motifs. These are embroidered on the oodhnis, shawls, and fabric, esp. the ones for their wedding trousseau.

Assorted colors of silk threads embroidered on a natural dyed fabric, produce a bright, beautiful and graceful designer Phulkari saree. Nikayi borrows the essence of Phulkari and enhance it further with contemporary hand embroidery using glass beads, sequins, and metal elements. This unique hand embroidery is used as inserts on the necklines, hems of the Indian designer kurtis, and borders of the hand embroidered sarees.

Nikayi adds a fresh touch of Phulkari to the conventional bridal sarees collection and the contrasting designer brocade blouse. They create graceful and elegant cotton silk or designer silk kurtis that can be customized to compliment your personality.
