SYN Bipolar Hip Prosthesis

Product Details

The bipolar hip operation is usually performed on older patients suffering from a dislocated fracture. The operation is swift, and the patient can start the rehabilitation program the next day.

Indications

· Intended for hemiarthroplasty for patients with massive acetabular deficiencies which do not permit secure fixation of the acetabular component.

· Hip instability caused by a deficiency of the abductors is a relative indication.

· If patient has no abductor musculature, bipolar implant provides added stability against dislocation.

The SYN Bipolar Hip Prosthesis is available in fenestrated and non-fenestrated versions. The available head sizes are from 39mm to 55mm with 2mm difference.
